Big Box Project: Return Broken 360 in Huge Container
Posted by XanTium | January 19 22:30 EST

From joystiq.com:
[QUOTE]
After being bathed in the dreaded red lights of doom for the second time, Microsoft informed the customer policy did away with round-trip shipping boxes -- instead, he would have to provide his own packaging and pay for the shipping to the repair center.

Irked by the policy change, our protagonist saw the opportunity for revenge when he was told of another Microsoft policy. It dictates that when the repairs are completed, the console is sent back to the customer within the same box it arrived in, at Microsoft's expense. Thus, The Big Box Project was born:
"The mission is simple; send the largest box possible... a shipping container. I want a 40 foot solid steel shipping container with nothing in it but my poor little xbox 360."

love this part

QUOTE
ME: You cant make an exception and ship me a box?

T2: No we have no boxes to send to you.

ME: You have no boxes to send me? What happened to all the boxes you used to send, you don't have them anymore?

T2: No, sir.

ME: Do you have any access to any cardboard? Could you make me a box and send that to me?

T2: No sir, I cannot.

ME: Are you saying that you have no cardboard in which you can send me.

T2: No sir.

ME: So what you are telling me is that Microsoft owns zero cardboard.

T2: I said we have no cardboard to ship to you.

The interest alone generated in 1 hour by all the cash Microsoft has is more than enough to fill that guys front yard to the brim with 40 foot shipping containers. ...you know, a shipping error. laugh.gif

I'd like to see him raise cash to clean up his yard. laugh.gif

In the end, the receiver at MS repair center would just refuse the shipment. But it is a funny idea.

gahh.. we should all just ship our 3 red light 360s to one place..then put ALL of them in ONE box..and just ship that to them.

That would be hilarious-

Huge 18-wheeler pulls up to M$'s building

Shipping people- "Package!"

::wheels out a GARGANTUAN box::

M$ employees- "JESUS CHRIST! WHAT THE HELL IS IN THAT?!?!?"

::M$ employees open box::

THOUSANDS of 360s come pouring out...killing every M$ employee within a 40ft radius

Gahhh...that would be soo awesome

Though, it does somewhat take away from the whole "giant box- 1 360" idea.

But ehh, whatev.

Lame publicity stunt...Like MS couldn't make an exception to their policy. Although it would be funnier if they didn't and dumped a shipping crate back on this idiot's lawn.
