I was wondering, would modifying the swkotor2.ini file affect the game's graphics at all?

Here are the default settings in that file:

CODE
[Display Options]
FullScreen=0
Disable Movies=0
Disable Intro Movies=0
AllowWindowedMode=1
Sort Modules=1
Width=640
Height=480
BitsPerPixels=32
RefreshRate=60

[Sound Options]
DisableSound=0

[Display Options2]
Width=1280
Height=1024

[Video Options]
EnableFastGrass=1
NumDynamicLights=8
Enable HardwareMouse=1
AntiAliasing Mode=0
Enable VSync=1
ShinyWater=0
NumShadowCastingLights=3
EnableVisualEffectsHigh=1
Enable Truform=0
Enable AnisotropicFiltering=0
CreatureWindSetting=1
EnableGrass=1

[Game Options]
AutoPause_LeaderKilled=0
AutoPause_EnemySighted=1
AutoPause_UseVertMenu=0
AutoPause_UseHorzMenu=0
AutoPause_RoundMode=0
AutoLevelUpNPCs=0
EnableTutorialWindows=0
UseLocalContent=0

[Graphics Options]
AllowWindowedMode=1
Fullscreen=0
Texture Quality=2

In particular:
FullScreen=0 // Why would a console game not be fullscreen, I doubt this affects anything.
AllowWindowedMode=1 // Same as above
Disable Intro Movies=0 // Would be nice to disable
Sort Modules=1 // What is this?

Now what I really like are these:
Width=640
Height=480

Since I would like to play this game on my monitor, could I set this options to a higher resolution setting, such as 1280×1024?

Then there are the [Video Options] and [Graphics Options] sections. If these do in fact work, I should be able to get much better picture quality (albeit at the cost of performance).

Even though I'll be testing this on my own anyways, I'd still like some input from anyone who has experience modding this file. Thanks.

Ever since i started modding Kotor, i never had to change or edit the ini file. With the way some mods work, it doesn't really run off of the game's swkotor.ini. It's usually dictated by the mods themselves. What mods were you planning on doing? Check my list to see if you can build off what i already started.

It's not about changing the swkotor2.ini to use mods, I want to modify the file to see if the settings actually have an effect on the game. For example, changing the value of AnisotropicFiltering or increasing the resolution could drastically improve the game's graphics.

This is one of the few things relevant that I found with Google, so I thought I'd put an answer here:

Sorry, none of the graphics options do anything. Antialiasing, filtering -- even disabling the grass doesn't work.

I didn't try deleting my savegames or anything, so feel free to try that. dry.gif
