PlayStation 3 advert appears in Xbox 360 game
Posted by XanTium | January 31 00:20 EST
From 360-gamer.com:
Earlier this month EA announced plans to release a football game based on the UEFA Champions League event, also releasing some screenshot-style renders to accompany the announcement, one of which partially revealed a PlayStation 3 ad in the background...
Well, it would seem this early announcement screenshot was no one-off. Soon after we receive preview code from EA and as we quickly begin playing and taking screenshots it becomes very much apparent that the PlayStation 3 ads are still there, taking up space within a game that is not only running on an Xbox 360 but isn't actually due out on PS3 at all. See the evidence here and here.
And this advert will also be in effect in the final version.. As the article says playstation 3 are official Champions league sponsors, nothing MS can do about it.
Guess its 1 : 1 in getting free advertisement from the competition now

Free ads? I dont know, Sony pays a fortune to sponsor the UEFA Champions Leauge (probably the largest annual event in the world), and they obviously demand return on that investment. What console the game is presented on is really completely beside the point in this case.

Uhm... lol...
MS isn't involved in the making of EA's games. MS only owns the platform which the games are on, not the games themselves. The only games they're involved in are made by MS Game studios.
They do look over everything and give it the OK, but they don't decide the content. It's really not that amazing that there's adds identical to those in real life, in a sports game... based on real life...

This happened to sony a few years ago aswell, Arsenal used to be sponsered by SEGA and Dreamcast, they had to put the sponsers in the latest FIFA game. This is nothing though
