I am getting something weird. With Xtv skin my videos start dropping frames and becomes jerky. Checked the same videos against PMIII, and it doesn't do the same thing.

Checked the debug log and when it starts dropping frames, tons of the following entries are appearing:

CODE
19:41:34 M: 15593472    INFO: Loading skin file: VideoOverlay.xml
19:41:34 M: 15568896    INFO: Loading skin file: VideoOverlay.xml

19:41:34 M: 15589376    INFO: Loading skin file: VideoOverlay.xml

Any ideas?

I have the same problem. I testing it using xTV and MC360 and they have very different results.

I am seeing the same problem with dropping of frames and audio getting horribly out of sink. This does not happen in PMIII or the new Slate skin...

Just out of curiosity do you get any in pm3 because the file you are playing is pretty big by XBMC standards being 920x528 with ac3 audio and compressed in mpeg4 format. It also seems that you are running in ntsc 4x3 and with your screen calibration XBMC is having to resize it down to 643x344 and having to calculate that rezing for every frame will cause some drops I would think.
As for why XTV drops more than mc360 no Idea I'm just curious if PM3 can play it any better or if the video file is too hi spec to be playing without frame drops

thanks for the skin its awesome!!!

I have a problem, When I goto the area, it gives me a list of network share to access vids from but it doesnt show the internal drive paritions (this works fine with other skins).
Have I set it up wrong or is this an early version of the skin Im running????

is there a SVN app for the Mac to download the latest builds of this skin???

many thanks

CHI3F,

Any update on the xTV skin for the Apple Movie Trailer being added to the AMT svn? I know earlier in the thread that you and Nuka were working on it.

Just curious.

PM3 and MC360 were both similar when I tried them but to be fair I also took the screenshots while it was playing so it added to the early/late. I have never had any real problems playing higher resolution files with AC3 audio before. I just noticed it got really choppy while using xTV.

yeah you shouldn't notice much in hidef files but all the ones Ive tried playing have had a couple of early and late frames in them nothing real bad also when you have a 16x9 TV is better because it dosn't have to compress the height as much so you get less frame drops. At least thats my experience

With regards Mac Software to download the SVN have a look at this link.

I use SmartSVN myself and it works great.

how do you build the xpr file ? because without that the skin will run slower if you just copy the images over I know Ive tested it. XPR help it get the images out quicker

The dropped frames and jerky video seem to be on all different size video files, but when using the 2/16/07 SVN, the issue goes away. PMII is fine playing these files will zero dropped frames.

The skin can't decide what the list shows.

on other xbmc skins when you click on video you are supplied with access to the c / d / e / f / dvd drive / smb & uPnP shares etc.
xTV only shows the network shares and not the static hard drives, do the static drives show up for you???
otherwise how do i get video to play and where do i store the videos??

thanks pop.gif

btw, where do I put the 'Wide Icons' as shown in your xTV Goodies??
