Sony released a small v1.51 OS update for the PS3 ... here's the official changelog.

LOL the original firmware only allowed 15 games to be made on the PS3. In 1.51 that limit was increased to 25. A new update will be available should they need to increase that number again. hahah

my guess is that it updates the system so that it can do the faked scaling that was just reported on.

Doesnt much matter at this point, the only good games to play on it are PS2 games. I was so tired of looking at my PS3 collecting dust that i went out and bought FF12. I got more time into FF12 in the last week then i have into playing PS3 games since launch. Go figure.

definitely not a typo, as nowadays, they started to type the PLAYSTATION 3 in uppercase from their old PlayStation 2

Me too. I'm having a great time playing FFXII again. It makes resistance seem ugly, monochromatic, and boring. laugh.gif

Maybe I'm crazy, but it seems like when I playback music on my PS3 now, it does a crossfade at the end of the song to the beginning of the next. Or maybe I just noticed it now for the first time.

I hear that. I got into God of War just after I picked up my PS3 and I've played that more on my PS3 than any of the very mediocre PS3 games. I was particularly let down by Resistance.

I am really anxious for the upscaling to be fixed though. Playing 720 games at 480 really sucks. No matter how bad the scaling looks, it's bound to look better than 480p!

most people did the same thing with their 360 at launch. Bought a few games, got boreed, then just played halo 2(XBOX 1) game over and over like they used to.

yeah... I was one of those. But that was because i got PDZ. Once i got PGR3 and Call of Duty 2, i said goodbye to Halo. This will happen to people with the PS3, eventually...i hope

Decent games will come eventually, PS2 launched almost the same way. Bunch of crap titles and one decent FPS (Timesplitters, still my fave FPS). Remember all the developers whinin' 'cuz the "Emotion Engine" was too hard to program for?
Still can't wait till I can play games in "4D". Ya figure that extra dimension will be the addition of smells to the gameplay, or maybe gaming in an alternate universe? huh.gif
