Can I use a cable like this for my ps3 or should I find smoething else?

Or if you have a spare HDMI and DVI cable lying around (i doubt you would). You could by a little device that connects the two, and it's cheaper. Google HDMI>DVI adapter and you should be able to find something of the sort.
