XDVDMulleter Beta 5 Fixed *updated*
Posted by XanTium | February 12 15:18 EST

Badsheepy released a new version of XDVDMulleter(info), an ISO extraction/creation/rebuilding tool for Xbox and Xbox360 discs with several features making it useful for more precise dumps as required by xtreme firmwares.

What's new/fixed:
* Added: Create ISO direct from FTP - With boost mode if supported (Maybe only Avalaunch(info)?)
* Added: Create ISO from Folders within multi game ISOs
* Added: ISO has optional end padding for bad media
* Fixed: Crosslinked file checker now works properly
* Fixed: ISOs are now more correct size
* Fixed: Zero length files handled properly
* Misc bugfixes i have forgotten about

!Update! BETA 5 (fixed edition) released:
This fixes a really stupid bug I should have found before releasing but didn't :P

I had reseved a post here for future use, and in case some members started discussion on backup of backup again.
Plse be nice to our friend Badsheepy who did an exceptional soft for us, I see he already indicated to be careful on this subject, and some seems to ignore it.

QUOTE(taken from: Posting Rules And No Piracy Policy, Plse Read First. Posted @ top of the section)

Lets all remember that we do not allow discussion at XS on doing multiple backups or a backup from another backup. We expect all backup processes to start with the original disk. The files on your Xbox 1 HD are a backup and starting the construction of another backup from them is not allowed as the end results would be multiple backups (one on your Xbox 1 HDisk and one for your X360).

Starting with the original, you can put it in the XBOX 1 DVD and start Craxtion (qwix or any other) to rip it straight on you PC HDisk (or use your X360 tools: Drive and XBCr) and continue the process from there with XDVDMUlleter (or similar).

We accept discussion on this process or any other process that brings you from your original to that original and ONE backup (including the one on the Xbox 1 HDisk).

Note that an ISO that you keep on your PC hardrive is also a backup, start with the original plse.

thank you for your understanding,

rgds,soso

thanks for the new release, altho looking for crosslinked files is broken.
edit: building iso from folder doesn't work (folder on pc).
CODE
w XBoxISO.FSFileSystemSource.GetISOType()
   w XDVDMulleter.RebuildOptions.RebuildOptions_SetActive(Object sender, CancelEventArgs e)
   w System.ComponentModel.CancelEventHandler.Invoke(Object sender, CancelEventArgs e)
   w Wizard.UI.WizardPage.OnSetActive(CancelEventArgs e)
   w Wizard.UI.WizardSheet.SetActivePage(WizardPage newPage)
   w Wizard.UI.WizardSheet.nextButton_Click(Object sender, EventArgs e)
   w System.Windows.Forms.Control.OnClick(EventArgs e)
   w System.Windows.Forms.Button.OnClick(EventArgs e)
   w System.Windows.Forms.Button.WndProc(Message& m)
   w System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.OnMessage(Message& m)
   w System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.WndProc(Message& m)
w System.Windows.Forms.NativeWindow.Callback(IntPtr hWnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr wparam, IntPtr lparam)

"w" = "in" (in polish)

Anyone have any luck converting an original image made for XBOX 1 into something that'll work on the 360? I've got a backup image of Black made for the original Xbox and am having trouble converting it to a working 360 image. The game gets to the loading screen where the bullet casing fly across the screen, but then it just says dirty disc.

Argh the window for editing posts timed out while i was writing it

Anyhow for the next release, if anyone wants to do some beta testing pre release, please PM me in these forums and I will get back to you sometime. Thanks smile.gif

Anyhow, beta 5 fixed version is being uploaded right now. So hopefully this one will fare better smile.gif

So long as this one works fine, next thing is ISO extraction (including a revamp of the faulty and ugly file extraction page, but mostly batch uploading and stuff like in normal xbox ISO apps).

Comments, suggestions, feedback are welcome as always

Hmerly: You just need to try different media. My 360 works reliably with ONE single dvd+rw, and no other discs i have tried. DVD+R works better than dvd-r, specially bitset to dvdrom.

jas0nuk: beta 4 i never bothered uploading cause it had no new features, just fixes and stuff. Actually I cant even remember what i did in it ohmy.gif

kidman64: Yeah it can do that
How did you go about shrinking it?
I have shrunk ninja gaiden black to a working ISO (cause that game is fantastic)

I did it by removing all the Japanese videos, copying the equivalent english videos in their place (so there are 2 copies of the same video, with different names) and then building the ISO with crosslinking.

If you just removed videos then I would suggest first testing the dvd you made on an xbox 1 if you have one available (just because they read media better). If it works, its the media, if not, its the lack of video files.

If i can work out a way of doing things like that automatically i hope to include it later on, but I am not sure its feasible due to the many ways companies have of naming files etc.
What I will almost certainly do (but not before next release +1) is add support for files to automate the process. (Where someone creates a shrunk iso, and xdvdmulleter analyses it and creates an file containing the steps to replicate the process)

If anyone has any ideas, comments, or suggestions about that, or any other xdvdmulleter features, id be happy to hear them smile.gif

I have had no luck with ******* To dvd5 mulleter.
but had Pretty good success rate From Orig.game & xbox backup creator. Then just dvd9-dvd5 mulleter.
i'v tried many times from folders and so on.
I only mention this cause the nfo clearly says = " It can make your old xbox 1 scene releases work on xbox 360 either on dvd5 or dvd9 "
So do you need all the .xbe's or just the default.xbe?

Thankyou Badsheepy. ( lol , i been testing - as you call it )

Oyea I been use Memorex dvd-R 4x & a lite-on dvdrw dl shw-160h6s cp91 pc drive.
( im on xtreme5.1 ts-h943 ) .. the ones that work seem fine on dvd-r.

Thanks again 2 All.

SpaceBar 99: Have you been using layout files? Using layout files for dvd5 wont restore the original file positions, but it should create an identical iso to one converted from dvd9 original.

People have repeatedly reported disc errors without using layout files, so I cant stress enough how important they appear to be. (Note: Im not actually sure WHY they are this important, but evidence suggests they are)

Also, please dont post about making isos from backup etc, its against forum rules.
