Hi guys, I think my floppy where I have my backup firmware is not like losed, is it possible I can get the custom firmware off the dvd drive and put it on a floppy disk so I can get my dvd drive key back?

You are in luck!

I believe you can go through the same process as you did to flash it to save the firmware again.
With a samsung, just hook your DVD drive back up to your computer, and use your bootdisk or bootdrive or whatever to run samread or mtkflash r /m key.bin. Then in windows, use 360FWToolbox to get your key again.

As long as your Xbox 360 works (and even otherwise sometimes) the key in your firmware remains original.

Just a word of advice. As floppys are extremely error prone and will fail sooner or later, I suggest you burn the orig.bin to a cd-r or put it on a harddrive instead of a floppy once you have read out the FW again.

You don't need the unhacked FW either, you just need a firmware with your key in it. So if you have lost your original FW but the drive still works and got a good key (can play backups) then read/dump the current hacked FW and save the .bin somewhere safe. You can then base all further flashings on the key in the backed up FW.

yeah thats what im gonna do i learned my lesson this time. I should of put it on my hdd before... i mean i even put my cousins on it. then im going to burn it to a cdr.
