I've tried reading up on this, but cannot find my answer. When I click on the Avalaunch icon under "My Programs", it opens it like a directory. It then shows the contents of E:/Apps/Avalaunch; which default.xbe is one of the files. If I then select default.xbe, it of course runs Avalaunch, but how do I make it run it upon clicking on the icon? All other Apps work fine. Thanks in advance. Latest TECH build is being used with PMIII

Anyone!!!!....I'm sure that someone out there knows this, but I still can't get it. I'd appreciate any help. I read the "How to make shortcut's to .xbe's", but that didn't help me. TIA

Make sure the xbe is called default.xbe

Also: It's incredibly rude to bump a post after only 1 hour !!
This is not a personal helpdesk and people have better things to do then to assist people like you who have non-existant problems and are just plain overlooking simple things and / or fail to see the reality.
Launching Avalaunch works just fine and there is nothing different to it than any other program.

@RolfLobker
Ok, first off--thanks for the suggestions. But since you want to play the RUDE ASSHOLE, count to 13 hours - not 1. It's called the difference between AM & PM. I've helped numerous people when I have the knowledge about their question. If I don't, then I stay quiet - which is maybe what you should do....But hey, thanks again. mad.gif

Besides, it states in the first post that it's called "Default.xbe"

WOW!
Why act like a total dick to someone trying to help you? Nobody's perfect (except you of course).

Did he miss the timing of your post bye 12 hours? Yes.

Is it against the xbox-scene rules too bump after 13 hours? YES.
I think he was just trying too be nice and save you a ban.

Anyway, good luck getting help with your problem. I'm sure there are some people in the scene that are bigger men than me, that can overlook your "RUDE ASSHOLE" comment.

Edit: I just read your username. Whether you're a cop or not, you sure have the right (I'm better than you) attitude for the profession.

Trying to help him? RolfLobker went so far as to call it a non-existant problem in his attempt to be of service.

Try going to <XBMC Dir>/UserData and deleting the "DataBase" folder there. Reboot XBMC and see if that makes a difference.

ok, I was off by twelve hours, sorry for that.

It looked as if this was one of those hit 'n run questions where someone gets frustrated if not properly answered within the hour. So my original post may be a bit harse due to that mistake.

However, i'll stay with my original statement that this is an insignificant issue if any exists at all.

First: saying default.xbe does not necessarily mean default.xbe.
Topicstarter may just as well be one of those thousands of people who say one thing while the other is true.
(i.e. people who type www.192.168.0.1 when I say 192.168.0.1 and fail to ever mention the www which they just made up themselves whilst asking me for help)

If I were having this problem I would have easily solved it within the 13 hours time by either clearing the cache (may be a bit more advanced) or just removing \apps\xbmc and ftp it over again.

@Bomb Bloke:
Maybe the way I said it was a bit misleading but what I meant with non-existant problem is not that he is making it up but that this is just a random, weird 'problem' which is not directly related to Avalaunch or XBMC but rather just some freaky coincidence which can be resolved by just resetting / reinstalling (ok, basic copy files instead of install tongue.gif) / ignored (it's purely cosmetic, how often do you launch Avalaunch anyway?) etc.
This is not a(n) (un)known bug or feature. There is no alternative setting or option for this and for the hundreds of xbox's fitted with numerous versions of xbmc and alternate settings I have never encountered anything like this. In other words: It's a user-error and not a software-error.

@Bomb Bloke
Thanks for the suggestion, I'll give it a try. Maybe a simple remedy (unknown to me), but I figure thats what a forum is for...Thanks
@RolfLobker
I apologize for my harsh comment, but it wasn't a "made up" problem as you said. It wasn't a big deal either, but isn't a public forum made to discuss/help each other. All I was trying to do was figure out an issue that obviously I was stumped on.
