I replaced my laser once.. it never really worked very good... then I got another and it didn't work.. and now I just got one to replace that one and I tried it and it didn't work.. I even increased the pot and nowthing... and yes I did remove the antistatic solder point... this is driving me nuts.. so if anyone could help me I would really appreciate it

also I bought some verbatim dvd's thinking it would help and because everyone says they're the best but they won't play.. well occasionally... but the phillips ones I have will play almost all the time

a little more info would be nice.

what model dvd drive do you have atm? did you replace it with the exact same laser module? are your trying to play backups? if so, have you tried them in another machine?
