Posted by HSDEMONZ | February 21 18:24 EST
From thegamefeed.com:
Vicious Cycle Software has announced today that their next-generation middleware development platform has been approved for use on the Xbox 360 console Tools and Middleware Program. The Vicious Engine is a robust platform allowing game creation without the need for full-time programmers.
"The Vicious Engine's entry into the Xbox 360 Tools and Middleware Program reflects our continued dedication to providing developers with the tools they need to create great games for the latest video game systems," said Eric Peterson, president at Vicious Cycle Software. "Using the Vicious Engine, developers can focus on creativity and innovation rather than worrying over technical details."
Full Story.. News-Source: thegamefeed.com

The tech demos for the star wars game coming look promising... this seems like a good thing
Do you mean the game that looks like a painting?
I think it's sort of funny - when the Windwaker Cel-da game hit, many games copied and went cell shaded. Now it seems Okami is going start its own trend.

I was refering to star wars: force unleashed. The engine allows for some incredible realtime physics to simulate materials. For example plywood will crack and break realistically when a force is applied.
And yeah Jet Set Radio was one of the first good Cel Shaded games that I can think of... More games could learn from Okami though =]
But again... this engine is more about cool physics than graphics.
