My monitor supports 1280x1024 and I was wondering if I get the VGA cable, does this alow me to output video to my monitor in High Def?

Is high def based on the resolution? So if i have a monitor that can display a higher resolution, i can play games in hd?

Am I making sense.

i think so because i'm using my 19''widescreen monitor through VGA & graphics are HD quality.

btw my monitor max res is 1400x900 & i can play my 360 games @ max res but i prefer 1280x1024 .
