Ok i am helping my friend mod his v1.6 xbox and we got the x2.6 CE chip. I have been having issues trying to flash the chip while it is in the box. So I have the old X2 programmer from when I got my x2.3 lite + chip, can I use this to flash his chip or do I have to get the new 2.6 programmer?

heres a great website that can answer any questions on Xecuters, also does it come with flashbios? if so you theres a real easy Tutorial on there. on the upper right side of the page...

how you trying to flash it, cd/dvd over http?
http is the easiest, just connect your xbox and pc w/ a crossover cable, type your xboxes ip adress into IE and choose your bios and flash.

I have looked on Team Xecuter's site already, it never mentions using any type of programmer in the flash bios tutorial. I was having issues with it locking up on the flashBIOS menu I thought I finally got it to take via disc but it ended up freezing half way through so now I just have a blank chip. I went ahead and ordered the 2.6 programmer since every time i use the old one I get a sync error.

maybe a corrupt bios, try d/l it from xbins again, and you re using the 5035_V16 or a 1.6 compatible bios right?
also have you tried flashing over http, you dont need the programmer to flash the chip for the first time thats just for if you wanna keep flashing diferent bioses or you screw your chip up with a bad flash.
