Halo 3 Could Ship in September
Posted by XanTium | March 15 14:18 EST | News Category: Xbox360
From teamxbox.com:
In an interview with 1up, Shane Kim has revealed that Microsoft won't ship any first-party title in October, as that is the release month for Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto IV. That forces the software giant to release Project Gotham Racing 4 and Halo 3 in either September or November. Lost Odyssey has already been scheduled for release in December.
At first, it'd make sense to have PGR 4 launching in September and then Halo 3 coming out in its traditional November date. But as the general manager of Microsoft Game Studios points out, having Halo 3 coming in September could be an option. "We don't tell Bungie when they have to ship Halo 3." Kim told 1up. "If they can get out before GTA4, they probably feel like that's better, sort of like Xbox 360 coming out before PlayStation 3."
Either way this fall is going to ROCK! I hate to say it but every day that passes each game that comes out is turning me into a true 360 FANBOY. Last gen I really didn't care one way or the other but how can you not get on this train! My psychic senses tell me November for H3.

i really don't think that they need to play games about when to release H3 - nothing can take away from H3's sales so they should stick with the old and reliable November.
god, i cannot wait...i just need a release date so i can ask off from work...

The last thing in the world I would want is a September release for Halo 3. I'd rather wait untill 08, than get a rushed game. Its going to be the last, so lets hope its the best. I'm not worried though. There is no way halo will be ready to ship that soon, and Bungie won't let Microsoft yank the leash. its not their style.

September seems too soon, although I hope it's possible but bungie would never release a buggy and incomplete game so it's most likely Nov.
One thing I don't get is how R* can give an exact date of when GTA4 will be released, are they so confident that they would have finished it, wonder how they work it out.

Hey, Halo 2 had its 'features' but the gameplay was still solid. Honestly I can't wait to see the death of RRX, BXR etc.... I'm hoping to see the skill requirements from Halo come back. But I wouldn't really consider Halo 2 buggy though. Just like Microsoft learned from xbox hackers and made a pretty secure console with the 360, so too will Bungie learn from the mistakes in both Halo and Halo 2.
