Personally I don't give a rats a$$ about HD-DVD or Blue-Ray, so if they added it into their system, internal, and charged more for it, that would be ridiculous. Just think about it, if you wanted HDMI and the only way to get it would be to pay an extra $100 on top of what the elite costs (for that lame HD-DVD player to be included)? MS$ would be Sony at that point, so I for one am glad they didn't include an internal HD-DVD...
If MS$ had a clue they would release a lame motion controller (so easy to do from a technology standpoint, have no idea why Nintendo has this monopolized?) and release and internal HD-DVD/Blue-Ray player. Why not? Just pay the license fees and include a drive tha plays everything! In the meantime, any console that will only play HD-DVD or Blue-Ray, and not both, is just lame. Sony blatantly trying to force their standard on the world by using their game system as a vehicle for it... If MS$ did this, the 360 would rule the console world. In the meantime, I'm still happy with what I've got, because I don't care about gimick controllers or "next-gen" dvd movies...
