XboxMediaCenter SVN rev8391 build of April 01st 2007 compiled by T3CH

This is a complete snapshot of what was in SVN at the time the build was compiled, with just a few small additions:
+ Killarny & Nuka1195 & Pikes AppleMovieTrailers (AMT) SVN pre-0.97.2 [scripts: Apple Movie Trailers]
+ BritneysPAIRS's ~110 choosen Milkdrop presets [visualisations: MD - BPs Selection]
+ EnderW & Blittans XBMCScripts Installer 1.8 SCRIPT [scripts: XBMCScripts]
+ Rockstar's Snake 1.0 SCRIPT [scripts: Snake]
+ Asteron's Tetris 1.0 SCRIPT [scripts: Tetris]
+ Nuka1195's T3CH Downloader SCRIPT [scripts: T3CH Downloader]
+ Codecs for mplayer [/system/players/mplayer/codecs/:*]

Special Note From T3CH:
QUOTE

* Funny how things work out. This build isn't an april fools joke
* This build may corrupt an existing videodatabase, so to play it safe backup the userdata before upgrading if you don't want to loose your db's.
* I include a new AMT revision which keeps it's cache in a different place; To avoid creating a new cache you may Create a folder \UserData\script_data\Apple Movie Trailers\ and move the old \.cache\ folder into it before running script. This AMT autochecks for updates to Newest Category on startup. Note to skinners: AMT Skins may be slightly outdated so feel free to update them
* There's no new mplayer TEST version since my last build, but you can still report issues with old TEST here.
* I've also tweaked the win32 run_me_first.bat so it runs and then unmounts the virtual drives when you exit.
* I'm also including the XBMC Win32 PC environment.exe that is meant for skinners & python developers, read more about the concept here. It was built using Microsoft DirectX Summer 2004 SDK.
* If you want to report bugs, please do it the PROPER way, see http://www.xboxmediacenter.com/wiki/index....oper_Bug_Report

NOTEWORTHY, XML and SCRIPT CHANGES IN THIS BUILD:
QUOTE

* added: Filter button to music and video library views. Allows you to filter a long list just by typing in the start of a word.

* sources.xml:
* keymap.xml:

INSTALL NOTES from T3CH readme/nfo:
QUOTE

* APPLICATION INSTALL
- Fresh Install: Transfer _whole_ XBMC folder to your APPS folder (or where you want it).
- Upgrade: Backup the XBMC\UserData folder. Transfer whole XBMC folder to Xbox. Overwrite UserData folder with your backed up copy.

* DASHBOARD INSTALL (SOFTMODS)
ARE NOT COVERED IN THIS README, SEE http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=406656

* DASHBOARD INSTALL
- Option 1. Team XBMC's shortcut tool.
It's included in the _tools folder as <<SHORTCUT by TEAM XBMC.xbe>> + <<SHORTCUT by TEAM XBMC.cfg>>.
Instructions here: http://www.xboxmediacenter.com/wiki/index....=As_a_Dashboard (Option 1).
Rename the <<SHORTCUT by TEAM XBMC.xbe>>+.cfg & also EDIT the .cfg so it matches your config.
See APPLICATION INSTALL above.
- Option 2. Thanks to an app called 'Team UIX's Xbe Shortcut Maker v1.0' by JbOnE, it's now easy...
Transfer contents of XBMC folder (this is VERY important since the tool is hardcoded) TO "E:\APPS\XBMC\". Rename <<SHORTCUT by TEAM UIX.xbe>> to something your bios can boot (see http://www.xboxmediacenter.com/wiki/index....=As_a_Dashboard or read your BIOS README) and transfer to location your mod solution boots. No need to fiddle with HOME tag anymore, and future upgrades you need not to worry about this file (unless you move XBMC).

* WIN32 PC ENVIRONMENT INSTRUCTIONS (WIN32 FOLDER)
Good to know, this requires DirectX9 Runtimes to be installed. Also this doesn't work with all graphics cards.
You need to:
- Copy XBMC_PC.exe & 'run_me_first.bat' from win32 to XBMC folder
- Run 'run_me_first.bat'
- Run XBMC_PC.exe

* UPGRADE TIPS
If you're updating from a VERY old/bad build you may get issues. Follow these simple rules:
- Replace (FTP OVERWRITE) all files in your XBMC folder with fresh ones from your new build
- Delete old settings (from UserData/guisettings.xml)
- In some rare cases some of the database files in UserData/Database/*.db may need manual deletion (usually if they are very old). Note: This loses all per file settings you made with the old build!

Just updated now with no issues. The changes look very impressive, especially love the bar showing cpu usage, free memory and HD space used in system information.
Anybody care to explain the new HD options in system; acoustic management level and power management level and which is preferable.

Thanks for all the hard work guys.

I just tried the XBMC PC environment - and to put it bluntly, it is simply fantastic!!! Everything works (except video). The music works, the library works, LastFM worrks, UPNP woks. SAMBA works.

It it way times better than any Windows Media center PC.

The only major problem is as I said, no video.

I know the XBMC guys said they wouldn't support video - which is a real shame.

I would love to move beyond my old XBox 1 and just use a small dedicated XBMC PC.

I really hope that if the XBMC guys don't pick up on this that at least someone else does.

How really hard can it be now that virtually everything else is working?

I just tried the XBMC PC environment - and to put it bluntly, it is simply fantastic!!! Everything works (except video). The music works, the library works, LastFM worrks, UPNP woks. SAMBA works.

It it way times better than any Windows Media center PC.

The only major problem is as I said, no video.

I agree, really loving the pc xmbc.
wish they would consider the long term enhancement of this, a fully fuctional windows version. perhaps even a fully functional linuxbased XBMC port frontend. I love the xbox modding over the past few years, have 4 networked around my house with xbmc . . but the lack of great Hd playback is going to be an issue in the near future. To ensure future usage of the xbmc app, perhaps port in to another platforrm . . linux based would be great.

I see tha apple tv is getting hacked more every day, and soon (if not already) will be able to run linux distros on it. A XBMC port onto this devise would be fantastic (HD playback, HDMI, integrated wireless, usb2.0) , or even the PS3 with linux, we could keep our perfect award winning interface, but continue to improve performance and ensure future developement . . into the HD era.

I have hopes that 360 hacking will improve, and will run linux better aswell . . maybe an XBMC360 . . or image a cross platform linuxed based XBMC port. for Apple tv , PS3 , xbox360 maybe . . all running a custom XBMC distro.

anyways I'm dreaming most likely . . still great work guys .. KEEP IT UP !!!

Just updated now with no issues. The changes look very impressive, especially love the bar showing cpu usage, free memory and HD space used in system information.
Anybody care to explain the new HD options in system; acoustic management level and power management level and which is preferable.

I'm guessing that the setting "Acoustic Management Level" controls this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automatic_Acoustic_Management

No idea what power management is though. Would be great if someone could shed a little light on that. smile.gif

Thanks for the new build...works great and corrects an annoying exiting problem I was having with a script.

I just spent quite a while building my TV library...renaming my files, then setting it up in XBMC. I have a question is there any way to mark all videos in folder as watched at one time or do you have to do it one by one?

If it has to done one by one...can this feature be added please. Maybe when you bring up the context menu on a folder with video files it can have an option to toggle all to watched or unwatched.

Just thought...

Again...Thanks and keep up the great work

Just wanted to pop in and say thanks for all the good hard work. I update almost every time although I don't help out with the bugs... honestly I have had 0 and I mean zero problems with all your builds.

Thanks again! I very much appreciate your time and effort put into all this. XBMC is really unchallenged. It's very cool and innovative.
