I want to make my ring of light red, but i like the idea of keeping the error light (therefore keeping bicolor leds) and i would prefer not to solder. After observing the ring of light schematic, http://pablot.com/misc/rol_schematic.pngI decided that if i was to switch pin 20 with pin 19, and pin 18 with pin 17 it would invert the colours. (I think, although i do not know what TP2 does, or what a TP is at all? [Trim Pot? ]) I am asking for help because i am yet to look at the ring myself (i am waiting for a unlock kit, along with other things) and this photo of the connector is not very clear: Does someone know, who has seen the ring of light, if this could be possible, and if the connector/pins could be swapped easily? Yes and no.
I just realised that, and i was about to correct myself, but what you are saying will not work. If that schematic is correct, but connecting to TP7,8,11 you are skipping resistors R4,21,22 respectively. But you could just twist the resistors onto the cable.

Lemme clue ya in on what 0ohm means, it means Zero Resistance, so you can skip 'em or reinstall them if ya want, but it's not gonna make a lick of difference either way, so yes it will work. This post has been edited by RDC: Apr 7 2007, 02:25 PM

That diagram posted above is what your looking for. Simply cut the traces circled in red. Then use a wire to connect the matching colors. - CollinstheClown
