i have all the softmods on the memory card(sid4installer an the splintercell gamesave)and on the xbox but when i put the game in and select start game->linux->check points. after checkpoints the installer hould come up,but it doesent. does anybody no how to fix this?

First you should be using a better softmod (Krayzies Ndure v1.1 + v1.1.1 update).

It may be your Action Replay or memory card corrupting the save (Action Replay is notorious for that). You can try to load a smaller gamesave and if that boots, then don't install it but FTP the gamesave you really want while you have FTP access. Then reboot and launch the save again and it will boot the gamesave you just put on.

Definetley do as above. Also, make sure that you don't have any other Splinter Cell saves on your hard drive.
