Bungie working on yet more Halo?
Posted by XanTium | April 11 22:11 EST | News Category: Xbox360

From xbox360fanboy.com:
[QUOTE]
If the latest issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly is to be believed, then Bungie is preparing yet another Halo title. Before anyone can raise a disapproving finger, EGM clarifies that the game in question is neither the episodic project directed by Peter Jackson nor Halo Wars (though EGM notes Halo Wars might see release this year). Nope, this would be a completely separate title apart from Halo 3 and the aforementioned spin-offs.

Sounds like they saw a new name copyrighted, that may be in development for quite some time. Or not.

Hm... I think it'd be overkill to continue the series past Halo 3.

However, a prequel might be good; something oriented around the battle for Reach, etc.
Either that, or they could come up with a completely multiplayer-oriented Halo game... think of the potential in that.

Nah. Sure the Bungie servers will withstand the lag but imagine a worldwide killing frenzy where no matter what you do youre always a part of the war... to me it sounds interesting but a little boring after 10 minutes

That's what I've been expecting from Bungie for a long time now, a multiplayer based game following the Halo trilogy! beerchug.gif

The movie was put on hold, but not the interactive Halo experience/movie.

And I agree 100% about the more Halo the better!

Bungie servers? Er you mean our own Xbox consoles, unless Bungie might actually opt for dedicated servers in one of their games.

A MMORPG would be really cool, especially to see how the game would go. But i agree with greenday54261, more sequals in the Halo series would be overkill, but a prequal could be cool.

so we're speculating on speculation huh...awesome.

a pure multiplayer game from bungie involving the halo series would be a great idea.

halo wars may come out in '07? i would wait until '08 - H3 gonna own the press and playtime...

This is great news, for me xbox has always = Halo.

It would be sad to stop such a great game at only the third series, i'm pretty sure it could be continued for a long time. And such a great seller of a game that most people love to play, it seems silly to not make anymore.

I think Bungie has alot of potential to take Halo alot further yet.

Nice one guys beerchug.gif

I'm 100% sure the next "inventinve", "next-gen", "über new" game from Bungie will be a .... *drumrolls* shooter! Again and again and again... Although I like the Halo series I do feel that it's enough after the third being released. Really hope they will try to make something else than pure shooters for the rest of their lifes.

I'm pretty sure that Halo started life as an MMORPG for the PC until M$ aquired Bungie and got them to make it for the xbox.

It started as a real time strategy then became a first person shooter.

Anyways, the new game is obviously Super Master Chief World

QUOTE
In 1999, Bungie announced their next product, Halo, which featured a world-beating physics and AI system. Halo's public unveiling occurred at the Macworld Expo 1999 keynote address by Apple's then-interim-CEO Steve Jobs (after a closed-door screening at E3 in 1999). However, on June 19, 2000, (also known as Black Monday), Microsoft announced that they had acquired Bungie Software and that Bungie would become a part of the Microsoft Game Division (subsequently renamed Microsoft Game Studios) under the name Bungie Studios. As a result, the Mac and PC versions were delayed, and the game was re-purposed for Microsoft's Xbox, on which it became the console's killer app. Bungie's sale to Apple's long-time rival Microsoft was seen as a betrayal by the Mac community at the time. Mac and Windows versions of Halo were eventually released two years later.
