Xbox 360 Elite delay till November for Europe?
Posted by XanTium | April 13 12:45 EST | News Category: Xbox360

From 360-gamer.com:
[QUOTE]
Since the announcement of a US release of the Xbox 360 Elite a few weeks back, rumours have been flying around about when the machine is going to land its sleek black shoes in the UK.

However, as Friday afternoon starts to draw to a close, the news of the week hits our desks, as unconfirmed reports suggest the Elite wont arrive 'til November.
A few phonecalls later, and we're informed that the Microsoft has been making pubishers aware of the UK release date over the last week.

All those people in the uk who sold their console for the elite must be gutted now that the release date is going to be November.

Yeah that's the only good thing that could come out of the delay..

Yeah same here, but i need a new 360, and i dont want to have to buy one now just to buy another in 6 months.

It looks like Microsoft not only want to copy Sony's HDMI, they want to copy their Europe policy aswell.

well that's their fault, with the elite not being in limited numbers they should have just sold their console when the elite is launched. no excuse for jumping the gun and assuming things.

also how can it be considered a "delay" when an europe release date was never announced to begin with? uhh.gif

I'm glad I don't live in the U.K. tongue.gif

Hopefully the U.K. will get the 65nm technology...it's only fair; with them having to wait 7 months and what not.

Gahh, I can't wait until I pick up my Elite...but there's just so much I need to buy right now!!!!

Thats what I was thinking too. And since it's close to xmas I bet we finally see a price drop on the core and premium too.

November release date also gives me plenty time to find my lazy ass a job to help pay for it! biggrin.gif .

I don't get why M$ are screwing us european gamers again. I thought it was great when they released the 360 at roughly the same time everywhere, why can't this happen with the elite? I'm not saying i want one, it would be nice to not be put on the back seat though... again.

it amazes me how every time that a company's product has different release dates in each country that it becomes news and that the same forum posts follow like "screw company X" and "company X doesn't care about us," etc...

every company worldwide usually will produce and release their product in their own country's market before releasing in other countries - it is both more efficient with distribution/manufacturing and more fiscally responsible.

of course, in this day of rapid information dissemination, hearing about a product that you want and cannot have for a while is frustrating...

Not true, Nintendo have long since realised that North America gives them a lot more love than Japan.

And consider this; WHY the delay? Take the original Xbox 360. To be sold in Europe, the dash supposedly needed to be translated into every damn language, needed enough GAMES to be ready in enough languages, needed to settle technical differences (PAL/SECAM working, correct power supplies produced). Now I guess I'm getting a bit too worked up over what IS just a rumour, but if Microsoft only needed 10 extra days for Europe because of all that stuff, why should they need so many more for the Elite?

Unless of course the only reason it was a 10 day wait was because it was intentionally delayed in the US for Christmas, but judging by the stock issues, that seems kinda doubtful.

good example, but yes, still true, read the quote...

The Elite is the marketplace trojan horse. Its only natural that it would be concentrated to the most marketplace-centric region. North America.
