Greetings all. It has been a while. I still having a working 1.6a 1st gen spiderchip moded xbox believe it or not. At the risk of getting flamed..... I just went thorugh all 13 pages of the spiderchip forums. Can we swap the retail HD with an 80gb HD? Anybody mastered this technique? I was in the evox dashboard section reading up on 16:9 High-Def mode and found that Hard Drive upgrades are chip specific. So now im a little worried cause i didnt see any posts about it except for one that was pointing to a deadlink. Much appreciated to anyone who can confirm and or point me in the right direction. Thanks.

hdd upgrade is specific to the bios on your chip but since you say you have a spider chip on a 1.6 then you must be running evox m8 bios and they will allow you to upgrade your hdd. just find a slayers evox installer disc or auto installer deluxe. burn to disc and boot in your xbox with your new unformatted large hdd and format and setup your dash and apps via the install disc and reboot when finished.
