[QUOTE]
The DS continued its rampage with 508K hardware units sold during the month, with the nearest competitor being the PS2, which sold 280K in March.
The newer Wii made an impressive appearance despite supply issues, selling 259K last month in hardware. Xbox 360 sold 199K, PS3 sold 130K and PSP sold 180K. Game Boy Advance still has staying power with 148K sold in the US.

nothing new that the 360 continues to punish the ps3...

but where are all those DS units going? seriously who are buying those things? that's good news for Nintendo, but i am completely baffled by those sales figures...

ps2 has alot off good titles and yet another price drop you can pick up old school large rebuilt ps2s for 89$ at gamestop. and sony supports legicy systems for years after a new system comes out unlike m$. so you got a cheap good system that still has a cuple years in game releses for under 100$ not to metion the stuff aruldy out. still nice to see the 360 smacking the ps3 around.

worse case ps3 flops hard and sony falls back on the ps2 for a few more years. price and lack of softwhere is the ps3 death nail. even the 360 sufers from this if it was cheaper the sailes would go up alot but they have loads of softwhere content and featurs that get people to buy a 360 sony does not.

someone said thers still people without ps2s well its true alot of people dont like to pay the large price for current gen consoles they rather wait for it to become past gen and the prices on the games/console to bottem out and then play everything then. hell i knoe someone in gamestop that was buying ps1 stuff they had some in stock like 20 bucks for the system and a cuple bucks for the games.

the one in my city still carrys n64 and ps1 stuff every once and a wile you find the games in the 5$ cart and 20$ systems and people buy them. i even saw a orignal nes in there once. i do kinda miss it thow when they used to always carry legicy systems until gamestop bought them out you could find anything from nes up at any time. as well as playble units of all of them.

It only sold 50% more than the ps3. Hardly a punishment considering how much longer the unit has been on the market and how many games. Heck I just convinced a friend to buy one. He said he wanted a PS3 because he wanted to play shooters and online games. He is basically a PC gamer who wants a console. I laughed and convinced him to get a 360. He kept saying he wanted the ps3 because he had a ps2 (got it in 2004) and that he hated the original xbox controller. My point with this is that Sony still has an advantage when it comes to late adopters and MS still needs to prove itself to attract more of the "wait and see" crowd.

And as far as the DS goes. Have you been living in a cave for the past 2 years? People like them. They have games like the GBA and unique games that seem to work well in portable format. Parents in the US like to shut their kids up by sticking a handheld gaming unit in their hands and that is why the GBA is still selling like crazy.

it's no secret that they break ALOT.

the phat ones expecially are notorious for disk drive problems.

so obviously you have to replace them when they break laugh.gif

plus now all the poor kids can afford one laugh.gif
