Alright, so today I was loading another game onto my harddrive from my computer using flashfxp, I was loading my game into my F:\Games\ directory and it didn't transfer all the files and I then noticed that nothing was showing in my Games folder. Other folders such as Emulators in my F: partition still have stuff in them, but it looks as tho everything somehow got deleted from the Games folder. When I view the harddrive space available on F it says it only has just over 2MB, so i obviously ran out of room. Are my games still there somewhere? They must be if the harddrive is still full - does anyone know why this happened and can offer any help? I would appreciate any advice Thanks
Alright I read it wrong I actually have 34Gigs left, which sounds about right so I wonder if i did delete all my games or not? This post has been edited by pmprints: Apr 20 2007, 07:46 PM |

The hdd is 320GB. I have been reading through forums a bit and i have been hearing that this is too big for a single f partition and that i essentially started corrupting data. What is the cutoff point is it 256gb? I am going to repartition my HDD most likely now with an F and G partition. Since nothing seems to be changed in any other folders besides my Games folder, can all of this be saved or is there a chance that everything on my F partition could have been corrupted?

What is the cutoff point is it 256gb? Yes, a partition cannot safely be larger than that size using standard 16 KB clusters.I am going to repartition my HDD most likely now with an F and G partition. So you don't have to change your Xbox's current BIOS to a 'F and G' one, you can simply reformat your F drive using XBPartitioner. The partition would automatically be formatted using 32 KB clusters, which would increase the point of corruption to 512 GB.is there a chance that everything on my F partition could have been corrupted? Yes, unfortunately, your F drive is most likely totally corrupted. This post has been edited by xboxgamer733: Apr 21 2007, 12:29 AM |

Thanks xboxgamer733, I knew that the newer bios with LBA48 support could allow bigger harddrives, but I didn't realize there was a limitation on clusters. Thanks for all the help guys, I shall have a long night ahead..
