Let me first say, If you're thinking of hotswapping...Dont. Spend the $20 (or less) and buy a chip. I followed the hotswap instructions perfectly and ended up with a useless hard disk. I made a back up of everything like it said and then, it deleted it when I folowed the rest of the instructions. So, ow I have a stock WD hard disk from my xbox that I cannot use.

My question..

Is there a way I can get this drive formated back to its original state? Or am I going to have to wait and order a chip?

Thanks!

-Chris

You need the eeprom to unlock the drive. If you don't have it, you can follow this guide to unlock the drive then prepare it in the Xbox after you chip it.
