So I did a lot of searching, and finally I found people in the same boat:

http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=543337

So let me explain what happened:

I have Ninja Gaiden Black and I have a softmodded xbox. I took the game to a friends house and we played it off his harddrive. His harddrive was dying so I got it replaced. I copied NG back, it refused to work. I delete the caches, disabled TSR, IGR, time correcting, disk/hd.. nothing. The first movie plays, level loads but the game just will not start.

I have got a fair bit of experience with xbox1s and this problem is baffling me. I mean one harddrive ago, this game was working like a charm. Now it freezes after its done loading.

There has got to be someone out there that knows what is going on. Why would some games work and not others? And why would it load the movies fine but not the level?? I even tried different bioses :/

Did you put in a new HD, or a used one?

I tried two harddrives, a very old 20GB and a new 250GB.

Are you playing it off the disc, or are you playing it off the hard drive?

If you directly transferred the game from the faulty hard drive to the new one, then the game is most likely corrupted.

Here is the deal: same thing happens off the disk or off the hd :/

And dont forget that the disk works in other xboxes.

Anyone solve this yet? I'm facing a similar issue with Shadow the Hedgehog. Worked fine off the disc on my old Xbox. My new one is having real issues. Keeps booting back to UnleashX.

it could be your dvd drive samsungs work with anything

Philips are picky

Tompsons are really picky

If you have anything other than sammsung then use good blank media and burn at a low speed

hope this helps

I doubt it has anything to do with the dvd drive or the bios. Most likely the savegame was signed with the old hd's lock key and the check fails whenever you try to load the game (from the new hd)... first make a copy of the savegame on your pc and then delete it from your xbox.. then try to run the game from scratch, should work... i'm currently facing the same problem with forza after upgrading my hd. I know that some people have successfully "resigned" their forza gamesaves..
