Commodore4Eva Xtreme Hitachi-LG v2.4 Stealth
Posted by Iriez | May 11 03:37 EST | News Category: Xbox360

Commodore4eva has released his version of Xtreme v2.4 firmware for Hitachi-LG GDR-3120L drives. Whats new:
(2.4) Added Disc-Jitter for Challenge types 5/7 to all Hitach firmwares.

Always recommended: If your drive is flashed USE A RESTORE FIRST
(Use the restore included on this package)

Notes about this release:
This version is a set of batch files, like the previous garyopa hitachi releases. This version has been done for several days, as c4e had originally implemented the disc-jitter on hitachi drives, but wanted to fully test all drives before public use. This version will not support v78 drives (use fw toolbox 3.1) but does provide the most stable flashing routines for v32-v59 Hitachi drives. This release still contains the F900 (game SS ripping core) and firmware Stealth, both of which are removed in fw toolbox 3.1 version.

Hello,
first of all, I would like to thank C4EVA for this release.

After this....I have a newbie question (please don't flame on me if I'm asking it here)

I am used to flash, on my hitachi driver, GARYOPA's firmware releases...Now I think my driver is flashed with Garyopa 2.3 firm...

This is the question is: Should I flash my drive with the new Garyopa Hitachi-LG Xtreme v1.7 (with the Jitter-Fix) or, maybe, I should flash this C4EVA_XTRM-HITACHI_v2_4_Stealth release?

What's the difference? I think I'm confused.

By the way...THANKS TO C4EVA!!!

Unless you have a 78 or 79 it makes no difference which method you use, its just simpler and a bit more stable. If you have a 78 or 79 you must use the toolbox from Maximus.

Almost, it is the same in regard to drives v32 thru v59,
but uses my original batch files which on some computers
is more stable than the new Toolbox v3.1

But it also keeps the F900 (game SS ripping core) and firmware Stealth
features of the original v2.3 firmware, which is current removed in the
new Toolbox v3.1

If you have an new drive v78 or v79 you can't use this release.

If you have an older FLASHed drive, remember to RESTORE first before UPGRADING.

If you have an older ORIGINAL drive, you might find this release more stable and you
will it alot faster in plain flashing, no click buttons, and typing, just one command, and bang it is done.

I haven't checked the version of Hitachi drive in my new pre-flashed 360 yet but assuming its one of the newer drives, can I upgrade without having to restore the original firmware? The problem is of course, I don't have the original dump of the firmware as I bought the console pre-flashed.

As far as I have read, you shouldnt need the original fw...just use the Restore.bat command.

I'm in the same boat (apart from I thought I had the original fw on CD-R but turned out it didnt burn correctly for some reason grr.gif )
