Maximus 360 FW Toolbox v3.1B with Hitachi-LG Xtreme v1.7
Posted by XanTium | May 11 13:12 EST | News Category: Xbox360

Maximus released an update to yesterday's 360 Firmware Toolbox(info) v3.1:
[QUOTE]
Maximus - FIRMWARE TOOLBOX V3.1B (With C4E/Garyopa Hitachi 1.7)
The Credit on the Hitachi 1.7 is to C4E for his original Hitachi Jitter Fix and to Garyopa for layout those changes on other versions

What's new/fixed (since v3.1):
* Added: Missing File was causing troubles to users with Classic Mode.

On this release I am including a missing file that was causing problems to users that used the option of the external flashers mainly users with drives 59 and older, none 78 users complain

We are on the same line to having 1 tool for all hitachi versions and to allow that we already have figured out how to solve the USB-SATA issues and some SIL issues to, so on next versions you can use that devices (for versions prior to 59) whithout glitches.

Meanwhile since this version is not USB-SATA friendly you can use the "external flashers" option or use the C4E release earlier wich is MS-DOS (if your drive is 59 or lower) and this release if you have 78/79

No v79 yet? sad.gif sad.gif sad.gif

If you can get the key off the drive it might just be worth buying another off Ebay, cant see v79 being supported for a while, dont think even anyone is working on it atm.

I've just flashed my 360 now with the first release from last night, do I need to reflash at all? I have a Hitachi LG 78fk.

Thanks.

Thanks for all the hard work guys, keep it up!

I personally like using the dos command box (I have a 47DJ with the USB-SATA). One command to restore, and one command to flash. Very very simple, I hope in the future they will always release them like that also, not just with the Toolbox.

This release appears to be corrupt. Win-rar sees an unexpected end of archive.

It may also be incompatible with Windows Vista (I run home premium 64-bit)

Also, I can not start the program as it moans about the ocx file. I tried downloading it online but I get this error when trying to register it (this must be vista):

The module "windows\system32\MSCOMCTL.OCX" was loaded but the call to DllRegisterServer failed with error code 0x8002801c.

Maybe its related to the corrupt file. I fear vista doesn't like it also.

Actually the only way, to get the key from v79 is using a tsop programmer, but first, removing epoxy and then desoldering, etc... Too much for a $ 500,00 Elite. Damm... i just need the key, i already have a Samgung ms25 and a Hitachi-LG v78. sad.gif sad.gif

I tried the restore and i got an error on four sectors in the middle of the flashing. I wish I copied and pasted but oh well I do know the Master checksum said good. I powered down turned back on the 360 (yes the sata plug was plugged back in) and it wouldn't play anything. So I then put it in mode b again via slax and went back and ran Flash 46 it did everything fine. My drive will now play backups but none of my originals or xbox 1 games It says unplayable disc immediately after i put in the original games.
Oh yeah It was an I/O Sense error on the four .
Could I just try a restore again? or would that be safe? smile.gif

QUOTE(Lush @ May 11 2007, 02:30 PM) *

can confirm that the archive is still corrupt...

I just logged in and tested the archive myself, yes it is corrupt and would not extract one of .OCX files,
so on some machines which were missing the file, you might have problems running it.

I just moved that file, and made a "REPACK" upload to the usual places, so it will be passing by you soon.

Again, this update is only for users having problems running the external flasher for older Hitachi,
and helps for those wishing to use the Toolbox on older drives using USB/SATA adapters.

If you have already updated your drive using Toolbox v3.1 or the great package from "C4EVA",
then you don't need this update.

I assume this new toolbox shouldnt be used on vista 64-bit as it uses 47flash.exe (or the other varients) which is the cause of so many bricked drives on vista.

Will the 'full-usb' support version overcome this with its internal flasher?

Its quite easy with thte toolbox. Assuming you have the key now, just dump you firmware and open it in the toolbox. Then copy and paste key in box and click replace key. Encrypt the file and then flash the key strings in the toolbox.
