I had the 3RLOD problem on my 360, after reading about the x clamp replacement i decided to give it a shot. Followed RBJ`s tut but struggled to get three washers on so left it at two, let it overheat then let everything cool down before putting everything back together. Fired it up no 3 lights after 30 seconds but 2 lights (overheating). So took it all apart again and took it down to one washer .....same problem. I noticed however that the thermal paste i put on has dried up.....anyone able to give me some guidance on what to try next? As i say 360 fires up fine stays on for about 30 seconds ...fans get louder and then console shuts off flashing 2 red lights.

Any help would be grately appreciated.

TIA.

Reapply the paste, and put three washers on, how are you stuggling to put three on, whats the problem? You shouldn't overheat your system to get rid of the 3LOD, if you need to do that then your problem will more than likely come back.
