Hey all.

Ive seen all the tuts about setting my fan to 12v.

Well, about 5 months ago, I did it, and it worked great! It still is! The thing I have trouble with now is the noise!

So I am looking to reduce the power to 7v, again, as stated in the Tuts.

I have soldered on the Red Wire to the 12v point seen here:

IPB Image

I dont want to resolder that anywhere else, to be honest, but if I have to I havent got a choice.

According to the Tuts, I need a 5v Ground shource for the Black Wire to go, to reduce the Power going through the Red wire to 7v.

Currently the Ground wires, and the Blue Pwer wire are still in theor Default sockets.

So where would the best 5v source be for my talismoon? I keep hearing that LEDs shouldnt go into certain places, but the talismoon has LEDs, and I dont wanna bugger things up.

I have seen a strip on the bottom of the Mobo, on the DVD Drive bit, which looks like the easiest. Can I use this one?

Thanks to all who help.

Okay. So If I continue to use the 12v I am using in the picture below, can I use either of the ground in the 2nd picture (under the USB) to reduce the speed to 7v?

Im sorry I am asking so many Questions.

Ive been told one of my Transistors may have blown, for me to play on the 360 normally, with a reduced Noise, then I must do this mod.

Please help me out!

Thanks.

Scrap that.

Now Im going to put the 12v Red Wire somewhere else.

Im probably gonna put it on a 3.3v place (which is next to the 12v one Im using right now) and keep the Ground in its default place.

So, basically, Im moving the Red wire only, to have a 3.3v power going through it.

The rest of the wires, Brown Blue and Black, are all staying on their default plugs.

The origina Fan (stock) is knackered from all the soldering it has had in the past day, so now Im down to my last fan.

I cant find any help from anywhere on the net, this is my last resort (and it was the first one I tried).

Ive looked on the Tuts, and it says I cant use the 5v one on top of the MoBo (NOT UNDERNEATH) because of the lack of Shorting protection.

And I havent got anyone telling me which points to use on the underside of the board, so Im not going under there.

If anyone is around in this Deserted forum tongue.gif please take 2 mins to help, ta.

DON'T!

I recommend the fan running on atleast 5v, anything less is just idiotic.

Well, upon experimenting with different places, I have left the 12v on the Red Wire, and I have put the Brown wire on the Ground on the Power Buttons.

I have no idea what volts its powering at.

I am now using the following pictures: (Red Wire on the Top pic, Brown Wire on the Ground point on the 2nd pic)

Should this be reducing the Volts or not?

Done.

Followed the picture above, putting the Black Wire with the Black Circle and Red with RED ETC.

Running Quite Quiet now.

Just a DVD Muffler sound and thatll be it.
