I was spoofing a drive last night with "FIRMWARE TOOLBOX V3.1B-Repack" and inserted an original 360 game then everything hung - the 360 drive wouldn't eject and I had to stop all processes on the PC etc + rebooted.

Now I can't get the drive to be detected by Windows and when I put the original disk in the 360 drive it won't eject again!

Is my drive bricked or is there a way to resurrect it?

Yes tried ModeB again using wire trick (which wouldn't work - drive doesn't flash like it did originally & can't detect in Windows) but not Slax, will try Slax tonight though.

It's a 0046DH.

I have now tried the SLAX method (v2.0 & v2.1) on 2 different SATA chipsets (VIA & Intel) with no luck, the PC struggles to get past the BIOS when the 360 is on but does so after a minute or so.
SLAX just can't see it.

Also the 360 won't eject once it's connected to the PC SATA (but does when not connected/the PC is off!)

I've done loads of drives in the past without issue, Hitachi's, Samsungs of all flavours (apart from Hitachi 79) so know the SLAX and Wire tricks & my SATA's are fine (usually!)

So it looks like the drive is bricked and unless it can be hard flashed (via Chilifix chip or similar) it's no good?

I have the orig.bin Key so just wonder if there are any options left for me?

On a side note - Have others had problems with Toobox v3.1B?

I had a similar problem, not sure if this will help you. Disconnect the SATA cable from your PC to the xbox. Boot up Windows normally. Do the cross wire to put your xbox 360 into mode b (although for some reason the light wont flash even though it is in mode B, so can be confusing) After that while windows and your xbox are both running connect the SATA cable from the Xbox drive to your PC. Go to control panel and open up device manager. Click on scan for new hardware changes and hopefully it will then detect your Xbox drive. Good luck

OK another thing to try, if not then ebay it is (the pain was this was already a replacement drive so hope I don't kill another one!)

I can unbrick the drive, but if you can get another for £27 + p&p from ebay, that might be your cheapest option.
I'd be interested in how long they take to ship from there.

Regards,
James

You've done a few by the looks of it, I'd need to buy the extra kit so not worth doing it myself but may take up your services!? I'll see what other options are available 1st then decide.
Thanks for the tutorial though wink.gif

Tried everything else last night and still couldn't get the Hitachi drive detected in Windows using all methods I could think of and read (including suggestions on here).

So definately a bricked Firmware on the drive - time to look for another one!

It may not be that hard for me to find a replacement drive now though with all these 360's that are being banned on Live!

Of course another option is to flash my drive with another flashing technique (not sure we can talk about it here - NME/infectus etc). Anyone any advice?
