I did a lot of looking around on the forum, and i seem to have found a fix for 0002 errors. According to Got4M4xx, most 0002 errors are caused be bad mosfets (typically the 2 just down from the CPU and GPU) I ordered some samples from ON semiconductors, but they don't seem to have samples of the EXACT model number (NTD60N02RG) when i clicked the "order samples" link for them it put samples for NTD60N02RT4G in the shopping cart. Will these mosfets work, or will they cause more problems?

(PS, any soldering tips i should know?)

They're the exact same thing in this case.

If you don't have a good soldering iron you'll have a time getting the Drain Tab of the thing hot enough to remove it from the board since it's surface mount.

Have you tested them to see if they're bad? or just whizzin' in the wind and hoping to not catch any spray?

Yeah, I've tested those two, but it seems like those two go bad a lot. On my newer motherboard, M$ seems to have switched providors. I wonder if I'll run into the same problem again 2 months down the road. sad.gif

adding more solder will weaken the old solder and make it tons easier to remove

I managed to un-solder the 2 smaller pins, but the bottom pin is giving me some trouble. I scraped off the whole top half of the mosfet, but the bottom pin still won't come off. I was frustrated to the point that i soldered a new mosfet on top (only the 2 smaller pins, mind you.) When i push down on the new mosfet, the board gives me a 0001 error. What should I do... blink.gif

It's not an accurate way to test any Field Effect Transistor
They should also be removed from circuit to test.

how hot do I have to get them to actually remove them from the motherboard? my 750* iron dosen't seem to be doing the job...
