That quote sounds suspiciously like they're waiting for either Microsoft to pay lots of cash to get it ported to the Xbox360, or for Sony to pay a lot of cash to not port it to the Xbox360.

I've still never played any of the final fantasy series even though I have a PS1 & PS2. I'm not really surprised by this news tbh. It's the only exclusive Sony can keep tbh.

Hard to believe people still play that. I got bored 6 hours into FF 7 and haven't played any since. It was literally putting me to sleep. Ya I know hardcore anime fans love it but I'll take action RPGs over the filling-bars-of boredom.

well if they can get MGS then getting FF should be like taking candy from a baby.

although if the battle system is like the one in XII, then no one is gonna buy it anyway.

honestly, i can live without FF if we can get a copy of kingdom hearts on the 360. i would love to see that leave sony personally. from what i recall, they said they had no intention of pulling off of the ps2 because the xbox didn't have a large enough fanbase to warrant it, this is not the case with the 360, so i just hope square decides to go multi platform.

What happened to Square Enix saying they were going to support the Xbox 360 100%?

Anyway, I don't think this has anything to do with how powerful the hardware is. This is about exclusivity. Heck, if it were about powerful hardware, then they wouldn't be developing for the Wii. I don't know why everyone expects to see a FF on the Xbox 360. One never came to the original Xbox, and it had the edge over the PS2 in many areas. If The Last Remnant sells well, they might reconsider.

You're right, it does not have anything to do with the hardware (the 360's GPU is better anyways).

It probably has more to do with the fact that both the PS3 and Wii are selling much better than the 360 in Japan.

I thought the same exact thing when I read it....however..
