Hi,

I just purchased a softmodded xbox after my xbox's hard drive crashed. Well, that wasn't the only problem with it, so I decided to replace it.

So now I have the softmodded xbox together with the original hard drive.
I'm quite afraid that a harddisk crash will occur once more. So can I replace the hard disk with the original 8Gb one?

How can I make a backup of the hard disk I have now?

And finally, my xbox says it's running at about 45°C (it's quite hot in my room), is this normal?

I have a v1.1 xbox, softmodded, unleashx dashboard

You can replace the HD with any disk. It has to be prepped and locked with the softmodded Xbox's eeprom.

FTP the C and E drives to the PC. Make sure you get the eeprom.bin. If not run a back up command.

Without looking it up, it seems OK.


Purchasing a new, larger HD, should be safe for years.

I can't find any comprehensive guides on how to prepare the disk or how to back up the disk.
Can you help me out?
