Team Blackbolt News Update - 07 June 2007, Concerning eX, Blackbolt returning, etc Options

Hi Guys, Blackbolt here. I'm just popping in to inform everyone of the plans that I hope to adere to this year leading up to the holiday period. First of all concerning MC360 and website downloads. Pretty soon we will be moving to a more simplified way of delivering MC360 and other skins to you alot quicker than the way we have it now, whether that means having download links directly on our homepage, or another system, I want to make them more accessable. Also XBMC Live Place will be streamlined into the MC360 section and no longer have its own space in the downloads section.

Regarding MC360, the SVN is the best place to download the latest version. Towards the end of this week, we will release 1.05 which will include the current SVN tree, this is likely to be the last 'version' numbered release of MC360. Everything will be based on SVN numbers from the official XBMC Skinning SVN where MC360 now recides.

I myself, will be returning to skin in the fall, specifically September/October. I plan to finish 'eX' and have that ready before Christmas. I would also like to get the 'THR33' Skin release before Christmas, but we will have to see how things pan out. I look forward to returning to skinning after having some time away from it and I hope that the forums will perk up again with chatter about our new skins.

Oh sorry I was thinking the skin was currently at 1.4 not 1.04.

Blackbolt used some new aging cream and found out he wasn't so old after all, so he figured he wouldn't retire just yet.

dude, he retired. And WHEN he retired, he said it probably wasnt gonna happen at the announced time period. So were lucky we are getting it at all in 07.

eX is such a simple skin compared to MC360. Most people just don't realise that when we started MC360, NOTHING that complex had ever been done, even I don't understand alot of the code, I put alot of faith in Jezz_X and he always delivers. I believe that he is the best coder in the XBMC scene.

When we where coding the skin, we literatly had to change the tracks ahead of us as we went, XBMC's skinning engine was updated and changed, we helped add new ideas and functions to the skinning engine. This was a very lengthy process as MC360 was not possible with XBMC when we started it, but that was a risk I took and gladly a few others decided to take that risk with me.

eX is going to be so simple to create because of the simple layout. THR33 is not a priority for 2007, I personally want eX in time for christmas, would be nice to finish off 2007 with a new skin from us.
