iXtreme firmware 1.2 for TS-H943 Xbox 360
Posted by Iriez | June 9 03:17 EST | News Category: Xbox360

A new firmware replacement for the TS-H943 xbox360 drive..
Features:
(v1.2) Extra verification performed on Stealth backups

Note: The extra features added in both 1.1(not public) and 1.2 release are directly related to security. A security-hole was found after 1.1, which lead to the jump in version numbers. We prefer to keep specific details private, but in general there is extra verfication between SS/DMI/PFI in stealth backups.

Those whom were using a TS-H943 in replacement of a original hitachi drive, and were having issues copying the key, should no longer have such issues. The included samtool has been updated to v0.7i (thanks caster420!!)

We strongly advise that you upgrade from 1.0 to 1.2 in the near future for the safety of your xblive account. Currently, 1.0 is safe, but in the future there will undoubtably be new checks that 1.2 addresses!
As always...
Use on Xbox Live at own risk!! (And please do not alter game content on xbox live, as that is the sole reason MS is motivated to ban backups on live!!!)

Also, please note that included is a version ixtr12-i.bin which is strictly for Windows/Linux testing ONLY. Do *NOT* flash the -inq version to your drive. The Hitachi Version of iXtreme is currently a Work In Progress. There is no ETA, so i would give it several weeks before any public progress report.

Here are the definitions update for iPrep 101(info) to include iXtreme 1.2 (extract file to your iPrep install directory)

The changes betwen 1.0 and 1.2 are obviously extra added securities in relation to stealth backups. You will find that many pirated (non-personally backed up) versions of games will no longer boot.

No, this is not our rage against the pirate war....it is instead c4e's attempt at further dummy proofing standards to prevent possible future bannings in relation to NON-PROPER backups. This new standard will hopefully provoke users to back up their own data with a kreon/TS-H943, or force others to do it right.

The Hitachi Version of iXtreme is currently a Work In Progress. There is no ETA, so i would give it several weeks before asking how its going.

I would like to also reiterate that this thread is to discuss iXtreme 1.2. It is not for theory, or debate, or discussion of select topic here.

There seem to be two .bin files in the fw\ directory, ixtrem12.bin and ixtr12-i.bin - any ideas what the second one is for?

i assume it is the same variant from the previous release where he said :

"Also, please note that included is a version ixtreme-inq.bin
which is strictly for Windows/Linux testing ONLY. Do *NOT* flash
the -inq version to your drive. "

just left off a "nq" this time..

.sith.

so you load from iprep the 1.2 firmware. Click the scsi for the via chipset and fix up the disk. Do I need to restore the firmware to original or can I go from 1.0 to 1.2 using iflash and idump?

I really hope people will listen to this, maybe coming from c4e it will make an impact. I really thing these bottom feeders ruined it for the rest of us as far as XBL is concerned.
