Okay so...a while back, I was messing with my Xbox softmod and I accidentally removed a file from the harddrive and since then I haven't been able to turn it on without getting those numerical errors at the top...I was told that since I deleted that file, the harddrive is now useless... and I tried using the original harddrive and I still got the error(s) I can't really remember if it was a few or just one. I was wondering if I could just buy a new harddrive and a modchip and put them in my xbox and solve the problem. I also cannot access the FTP anymore

The hard drive doesn't need to be locked if you put the modchip in. If you don't...then yeah, you need to lock it before it will boot.
