Anyone know what temperature the solder M$ uses melts at? It's definitely not 750* (like my solder)

It really depends on the exact type of Lead Free solder they're using, but anywhere from 220C to 240C, around 450F. Lead solder melts around 200C, around 400F. The reason you can't get whatever it is that you're soldering on to flow is you're not soldering with new solder, after solder is used it's melting temperature becomes a little higher, plus I doubt you're using any kind of flux and probably not doing it right, each solder joint has a type and there is a better way to try soldering/desoldering it from another type.
