one again the ps3 falls short. nintendo rules the gen and ms close behined. thers alot of non shooters coming for the 360 and thats gonna boost sales but a price drop would relly help.

In the end of the day, Sony doesn't really care if you buy a PS2 or PS3, they're still buying games..

They probably make more net profit from PS2's, and secure new customers with the backwards compatibility of the PS3.


Nintendo is kicking ASS! It looks like Nintendo taking this generation is now a reality.

while a price drop would definitally help the 360, i believe games like halo 3 and mass effect will help sell more 360s. it doesnt surprise me that ps3 isnt doing so hot..having nothing really great out for it, and being so expensive.
what i wanna know is how is the wii selling so much when i cant ever seem to find any?!?!

Using charts from http://www.vgchartz.com/ and complex napkin math, the Wii will tie with Xbox 360 sales in October at 11,250 consoles sold. It will then continue to skyrocket past in the coming months.

But that won't happen.

Nintendo won't beat Microsoft until early next year. Microsoft will go back into giving hardware away to slow Nintendo down. Nintendo doesn't give hardware away, so they won't mind the wait.

I wouldn't class the Wii as next gen, in my opinion. Its just a novelty of a new control system, and the novelty will wear off. The games look crap and will continue to do so while the PS3 and 360 continue to grow. A price drop from either PS3 or 360 will see the Wii sales start to decline.

Honeslty, i cant grasp the idea of why people will continue to play the same Nintendo games over and over on each of their consoles, can they not come up with any new ideas for god sake.

To be honest, it sounds like you've never given Nintendo a chance. Sure, they have many recurring franchises, but it says something when these franchises deliver good games consistently every gen (not including mario party/sports....)

I'd take a new Zelda/Metroid/Mario over most of this 7th gen crap any day. (I just got done playing Mario Sunshine, and am currently playing Windwaker along with a few other several-years-old games on PC/PS2)

Nah, i could never get away with Nintendo games. They just have no appeal to me. I still think the novelty of the Wii will die off though. The interaction in the games with the Wii remote will become to repetitive from game to game and it wont take long for the max graphics potential to peak due to limited hardware.

Do I need to go on? These games may not appeal to YOU but they appeal to every other gamer out there. These games are indredibly fun, and I used to think the Wiimote gimmick was gonna go away pretty quick, but it doesnt. Its really badass and a fun way to play games. Everygame you do something different, nothing is really repetitive.

Graphics dont make a game, its the quality of the game. The best RPG's ever made, dont have the greatest graphics, but yet they are super succesful. There are a lot of gamers out there, BUT the Wii even appeals to people that are NOT gamers, which is why it sells so much. I've seen parents going out to buy a Wii for themselves! It sounds crazy, but its the truth!
