Posted by XanTium | July 2 14:23 EST | News Category: Xbox360

From the official press release:
[QUOTE]
For the second year running, fans around the world thirsting for a sneak preview of the Xbox 360 holiday games and entertainment lineup can get together with friends to experience the E3 Media & Business Summit (E3) -- the biggest video game industry event of the year -- in high definition from the comfort of their own homes.
From Tuesday, July 10, through Friday, July 13, Microsoft Corp. is bringing E3 home to owners of the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system through its second annual E3: Bringing It Home, which offers downloads on Xbox LIVE Marketplace of the hottest content from the show.
Connect to the Xbox LIVE online entertainment network and bring everyone together in the living room to enjoy the E3 experience with E3: Bringing It Home.

Xbox 360 owners will be able to download high-definition content direct from the show including the following:
* Microsoft's E3 2007 press conference -- beginning at 8:30 p.m. PDT on Tuesday, July 10 -- will be available on Xbox LIVE Marketplace in high definition later in the week
* Video updates direct from the show
* A selection of game trailers, themes, gamer pictures and demos will be available from the hottest E3 titles such as these:
* "Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation" (NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc.)
* "Assassin's Creed" (Ubisoft)
* "BioShock" (2K)
* "Blue Dragon" (Microsoft Game Studios)
* "Burnout Paradise" (Electronic Arts Inc.)
* "CALL OF DUTY 4: MODERN WARFARE™" (Activision)

It was just downsized and restructered to make it more low-key instead of a huge trade show. It's more inaccessible for the public now.

I can't wait to see what we get demo-wise from e3 this year. I'm hoping bioshock and assassin's creed demos show up.

This is what E3 should of been like in the first place, accessible to the web so the small developers can get a decent chance to show of there stuff.

I know past few E3's been net covered but only the big Corp's had there say in the headliners.

I'm actually quite looking forward to this E3, in Major Nelson's PodCast's seem to be hinting that it's going to be quite good biggrin.gif.

So behind all theese nice words, what they actually means is that we will be able to download perhaps 2-3 game demos (guessing wildly tongue.gif) and like 20 videos/trailers that we could watch on whatever game magazine internet site instead of downloading sloooooowly through Live!... Yay, I'm not impressed.

allow me to translate:

The xbox live servers are going to get raped just like they did at e3 last year from everyone downloading stuff

kidding aside, i just hope that plenty of demo's come out. if its anything like last year, once the smoke settles and the live servers stop getting hammered, there will be plenty of good content to check out. last year we even got some free gamerpics / system themes, so hopefully that will happen again too smile.gif (the announcement doesn't specifically say free when it says there will be pics/themes).

also, guitar hero anything is always welcome

Even though we can download trailers online I still prefer to download them over Xbox Live.

I like doing this because I can watch the trailer on the same display I will eventually be playing the games on, so it gives me a really good idea how the graphics will look.

Gametrailers.com and other sites are great but watching a streaming video in a window on my 19" computer monitor and shat-tastic PC speakers is a completely different experience from watching it in HD full screen in my home theater room with over 1000Watts of surround sound glory.

Sorry but watching a video online to get a feel for the game is like riding a go-cart while watching it in my home theater room is like sitting in the passengers seat while the dealer drives.

I'll take the XBL download, thank you.

I think you know what he meant, it's not about watching trailers on hdtv over a pc monitor, it's about releasing more demos instead of a countless amount of trailers.

I still enjoy the trailers, sometimes the demos ruin it for me. I just like a taste to hype my self up. I really hope call of duty 4 has a demo though haha. After what team xbox said about it its probably my #1 game for the year to buy, right along with gta 4. love.gif
