Xbox Live India to be Launched in September
Posted by XanTium | July 2 20:42 EST | News Category: Xbox360

From gameguru.in:
[QUOTE]
It's been a long time since Microsoft has launched the Xbox 360 in India. Gamers here were waiting for a long time to hear the words "Xbox Live India" from Microsoft. It seems that their wait is over as Microsoft is planning to launch the online gaming service in India.

The Xbox LIVE launch will take place simultaneously from 23rd to 30th September. All of this will coincide with the Xbox 360's first anniversary in India, which also falls on the 23rd. Xbox LIVE subscriptions will be available in 1 month, 3 month and 12 month denominations, and from what we hear, will be quite attractively priced. There may even be an Xbox LIVE bundle in the works, comprising a live subscription, a broadband internet connection and a game.

Maybe it's just me... but I'm having a hard time grasping the concept of not offering online service on the console for a YEAR. If you think Europe gets no lovin because of no video marketplace...

I wonder the same lol.
I know it's not just India waiting for LIVE services ... South Africa has been asking for it for ages too.

If I called tech support right now I'd be speaking to someone in India. It's about time they let them get on LIVE.

So what happens when you connect the 360 to a broadband connection in india, don't get it, would it just not connect?

Surely marketplace must have been available.

As an american stereotypicalist, I don't see people in india playing 360. Let alone on live. It seems their main focus should be on eating, and staying disease free.

Get over yourself, just because you know a succesful one, doesn't mean the country is successfull. People move out of India to become truly prosperous in capitalist economies.

I've known at least 5 people from India at one point or another, and all of them had at least one type of disease or another. Stereotypes are usually based on fact.

No they are not. Stereotypes are hyperbolic representations, not be any measure an accurate indication. Maybe you are the one who needs to 'Get over yourself', and look up the economic statistics. The GDP per capita is a little low, but not low enough to claim that they are all starving and sick. The facts are all there - look them up.

On topic -
Its better (very) late than never! Heh, though I'll admit the fact that the call center is already in India and yet they had no LIVE is pretty funny.
