Chris Early appointed general manager for Windows Live
Posted by XanTium | July 3 20:13 EST | News Category: Xbox360

From gamesindustry.biz:
[QUOTE]
Microsoft has appointed Chris Early, currently the studio manager for Microsoft casual games, as general manager for Games for Windows Live effective July 9.

Microsoft reports that Early will work to "bridge the gap" between PC and consoles, which includes adding Xbox Live-type features to PC titles and assisting developers in integrating Games for Windows Live into upcoming releases.
Interim Xbox Live group manager Bryan Trussel will replace Early as head of Microsoft casual games.

The gap is there for a reason.

Fucking LEAVE IT THERE, bitches.

We bought CONSOLES for a reason. To fucking get AWAY FROM PC style, and play CONSOLE style.

And PC fans want to play P fucking C, not console. Surprising, huh?

Fucking money hungry execs.

Replacing all the unique, fun, identifying traits of console games.

With new money-farming, ad-riddled digital pimples becoming blended into other types of gaming and losing their unique niches.

Just to farm money by morphing every new game into its market-manipulating standardizations

Instead of selling high-quality on well-defined platforms, like they used to until now.

Games used to be something imaginative, well-defined, and beautiful.

Fuck Microshaft. Truly, fuck em.

I agree, they need to remain separate, especially for FPS.

It's not like Microsoft is the first to close the gap. I still remember the Sega Dreamcast and Quake 3 (up until version 1.16 or something)...

Erm Hopeful if you have a 360 GamerTag you can use it for free on GFWLive for free or vice versa.

I don't see the big deal, at the moment only first parties are using the system, I can't see like Valve going that way for example, they already have there Live type system in place, it's called Steam.

I think if Games For Windows Live is to be successful, they need to integrate it into windows or as some kind of background service so you don't have to launch a game to use it.

They should bring the Xbox Live Arcade System over to make casual games more succesful and appealing.

They should bring Market Place and Video Market Place over in a similar style.

Not necessarily use the blade system the 360 has, ill be getting GFWLive but atm it just seemes like a lost and lonely service.

I agree 100% with the first poster! My first reaction when reading about this "merging" was like "wtf, I dont WANT to play with PC gamers ffs". This move is really bad imo, it will only lead to console and PC games getting closer and closer and soon everything we will se on our beloved 360 is bad clones of boring massproduced PC shooters. At the same time the PC gamers will crush us console players on Live! with their keyboard/mouse controller combo.
