I have an original XBOX. I made a Gamertag at XBOX.com but when I select "Recover Gamertag" it wants a Credit Card too. I made a silver account, so why does it need a credit card?

and when you made the account at xbox.com it made it for the 360, and you can't recover a 360 gamertag on an xbox 1.

Not true. I just did that because I sold my 360. You have to input a C/C on the 360 dashboard, then it will carry over to the original. I called XBox tech support and that's how they explained it to me. Worked like a charm. My screen name was originally made on a 360
