Rumor: Rock Band Guitar 20usd More Expensive on 360
Posted by XanTium | July 6 22:51 EST | News Category: Xbox360

From joystiq.com:
[QUOTE]
Nailing down a Rock Band peripheral price has been almost as difficult as explaining how Keith Richards is still alive. An employee of Game Crazy sent us a printout of the pricing list which they received on July 3. The only thing that really jumps out is the Xbox 360 guitar price being $20 more than the PS3.

The price discrepancy could go back to the issue from last year regarding Red Octane and their attempt to get a wireless guitar on the Xbox 360. Turns out to license Microsoft's proprietary wireless technology would have increased the cost of the wireless guitar and the company decided not to do it. Could $20 be the magic number being tacked on for the consumer? This would also assume, if the pricing is correct, that neither the drum set nor the microphone would be wireless given the lack of a price difference between the two systems.

thats a real shame. the game is great, even with having a wired guitar, but a wireless guitar would have been really awesome.

and would have made for some funny front page news stories about guitars flying through TV's

No? There will be a drum set available for Rock Band though..

And that's pretty dumb. I don't wanna be spending 20 extra bucks.. oh well. It better be worth it. lol

lol,I've never heard about this game before,it looks pretty interesting, but the problem is how much will cost a complete set(game, drum, microphone and guitar)? And U$20 more per each one(comparing to PS3if all three are wireless)will make the 360 version much more expensive than the PS3. blink.gif

in their attempt to make a realistic guitar... did they realize most guitars have cords lol?

either way (wired or wireless) it'll still be cool. i can't wait to see the "wii" scenario happen again lol

Damn it Microshaft... So you loosened the purse strings in the warranty department but now you are still trying to put the screws to people in wireless components?

I would think that Microshaft would *want* everything to be wireless... that could be a big selling point that wireless components are available and look: (pretending) they don't cost any extra...

Don't charge an arm and a leg for wireless ability.... that should be freely available now, not horded.

I hope the gh2 guitar will work with rockband, then I don't need to buy a guitar at all smile.gif

edit: I just remembered that the Rock Band guitar will have 10 fret buttons while the gh2 one only have 5, so probably won't be compatible.. or at least not 100%.
