Is it safe to download the backward compatibility and install it on the 360 that has a Hitachi drive with the mod not being up to date?

Could I get banned?

Will the original and backups work?

Can I use normal dvds?

Can my console get bricked?

You could have asked all your questions in one thread.

1. Yes you could get banned if you mod your xbox. Nothing is 100% safe. Risk currently is minimal, but that can change overnight and without warning.

2. Originals and backups that you create yourself using the proper tools will work. You must use a Xbox 360 drive in your PC or get a Samsung Sh162 and put the Kreon firmware on it to make backups.

3. You must use DVD+R DL.

4. It is possible to brick your console but not likely if you learn what you are doing well. Opening your console voids the warranty. If your box breaks down the road you can not even pay MS to fix it. Currently there is a 3 yr extended warranty from MS.

I downloaded the Street Fighter 2 demo and it made me update something to play it, which I refused.
Is it safe to update it?
