More Confirmation of US Price Drop: Toys R Us Ad

After the insider leaks earlier this week and the wal-mart ad yesterday, today an Toys 'R' Us ad has been leaked on the net confirming the $50 drop in he US. From kotaku.com:

Wow... So I guess this means you can buy a core pack for the same price as a Wii now. You can probably buy a used core model for around 200. This is great news for people with a banned console that want to own a 2nd unmodded one for use with live.

not banned yet here, but was thinking the same thing. also makes me wonder about the walmart add, since it looks shopped but maybe its not. wonder if someone in the graphics design department just sucks at proofreading?

Wow, we get it already. This is hardly front-page worthy, why do we need 3 different sources that there's going to be a price drop like it's the biggest news in the xbox scene all year. Let's start seeing some legitamate front page stories huh? This place is falling apart.....

sure it seems like an onslaught on news on the rumored 360 price cut, but it is important because the console has been out almost 2 years with no price change and the PS3 has already been dropped. also, until this news is truly confirmed (not that there is much doubt now) then any of these pre-release ads are news worthy.


i would have liked to see the core drop less than only $20 but still something is better than nothing...

obviously there needs to be more "proof" as there are many skeptics (see post right above yours). i can understand people being skeptical, but reading people calling this photochopped or the walmart ad because no 99 cents as other walmart items has no 99 cent??? i think we need more re-enforcements from other retailers as "proof" until there is no more skeptics or if the rumors are proven false.

That would make if even better, I was planning on getting a Premium. But if the price on the Elite drops to that then I might just have to get it instead.

I think that once the new 'Falcon' motherboard revisions are out (they are maybe in production already, was planned for this summer anyway), all Xbox models will have the HDMI port. If correct it means that between Pro an Elite only color and HDD will be diff.

Hmm I wonder if MS are gonna use europe as a money bank? the Elite is supposed to get a release in august for 450-470€. If it before then drops by 80 in the US, europe will pay alot more for their elites then the US does.

Also, a 50$ drop for the core and premium won't cut it. Its not enough to gain new momentum, and since the elite will still be 399$ they won't get any closer to the casual/cheapassgamer market.

I also wonder if we ever will start seeing premium and cores with HDMI or will that still be limited to the elite.
(I just have no need for a bigger hdd, I only want to get rid of all the cables)
