Then its not in the market?
I guess im assuming that he means the new falcon that's supposed to be out soon.
If he's talking about the "fixes" on current mobo's then he's lying to a bunch of men with a bunch of money.
You need to look at the manufacture date of your console buddy. I just purchased an elite today (they JUST got them back in stock after not having any for weeks for some strange reason), my elite has the new heat sink on the GPU that extends under the dvd drive out by the other heat sink. I haven't opened it up yet, but it clearly has it, looking through the side with a flash light, the new heat sink is there, I have compared it to my other 360.
Anyways, I don't know if it has the new smaller CPU etc, but they are definatley putting out new hardware in the systems. What you need to do is look at the manufacture date which can be seen simply by opening up the little "serial number" tab and pulling the packaging up a little bit, you can see it without opening it up.
My date was 2007-06-20 Just more than a month old. BUT YOU MUST CHECK the date, because I purchased a xbox 360 premium the other day (I returned it for this elite) that had a manufacture date in 2006! I am not kidding, it had no dash updates AT ALL. So, yes, there are new ones on shelves (like I said the elites just came in today) you just need to be sure you get the one with the heat sinks.
You can see them without taking the box apart like I said above, using a flash light, you see the cpu heat sink about middle and the other one is twords the front (closer the the faceplate). You will see two copper "nobs" within some nice shiny metal.
Anyways, I was excited to get one today, just thought I would chime in. I would like to keep my warranty in tact, but I am also interested to see whats under those heat sinks! Maybe I will take it apart tomorrow and check it out... I can always return it to target and get a new one within 90 days.
