New Microsoft Site Now Online for Xbox Repairs in US
Posted by XanTium | August 3 20:55 EST | News Category: Xbox360

From gamerscoreblog.com (FYI: MS owned blog):
[QUOTE]
For those of you who require sending your Xbox or Xbox 360 in for repairs, we now have another option to speed things along. Xbox.com has an online option for customers in the US, now available at http://service.xbox.com.

This new service lets you register your Xbox or Xbox 360 console, setup a repair, and track the status of the repair, all online. This new site lets you create In-Warranty or Out-of-warranty repairs, and even gives you a $5 discount for Out-of-Warranty repairs.

We hope you don't need to use it, but if you do, we hope it speeds things along.

Doesn't work for me either but its probably because im a canuk... also..when I called them about it, sanjay said you have to enter your name exactly as they entered it on your initial repair call.. so get them to - PER LETTER - spell your name back to you smile.gif

I wonder if Canadians are still getting refurbished units or the "new designs" .... hmmmm

Anyways...best of luck !

I sent mine in last Friday, if you give them your email, and you already have an MSN passport, and registered your 360 with them on Xbox.com, they already know everything.

They knew my serial number and had my address and everything already filled in, just verified my address. They also give you emails for every step of the process, when they send your coffin out, when they receive your 360, etc.

You can check the status at any time from that site, pretty nice. Better if it never died, but probably the best repair service I've come across in a while.

works for me. (i'm from germany) A few hours ago it said "recieved xbox from customer" , now it says "no pending repair" and the serial number has changed! (from 41xxxxxxxxxx to 30xxxxxxxxxx) does that mean i will recieve an older refurbished console?

It looks like the site works for me, too.

It's good that Microsoft is now trying to make the console repair process less frustrating. smile.gif

This is great. However, I think it should've been done much sooner. Nintendo has already been doing the very same thing for sometime. I found it really convenient when I needed my Wii repaired. Didn't have to speak to a single person.

I myself cannot stand calling repair centers.... You always have to go through the automated machine, the stupid questions, and the representatives having you do their list of possible "stupid" remedies to read off to you.

it still amazes me how far microsoft let this come before they thought, shit..... we gotta do something... the product should have been pulled the moment they started getting high returns, in the end it would have worked out better for them and the customer.. And I sure as heck would have had a lot more respect for them..

Lets just be glad they dont make automobiles,

I should probably send in my 360.
When I turn it on, it sounds like the drive is tossing the disc around. No scratches yet though.
