Non-US Gamers Facing Wait for HDMI 360s
Posted by XanTium | August 9 10:50 EST | News Category: Xbox360

From next-gen.biz:
[QUOTE]
Following Microsoft's acknowledgement on Wednesday that it's slowly introducing HDMI-equipped Premium Xbox 360s into the US market, its Australian arm has stated that it will be a while before a similar strategy is adopted down under.
Comments from a Microsoft representative indicate that HDMI-equipped Premium 360s will be available in Australia and New Zealand at some point, although that could be a long time in coming.

There has been no word from Microsoft's European arm as yet concerning the release of the new Premium 360 hardware in Europe, and Microsoft UK was unavailable for comment at the time of going to press. However, with the HDMI port-equipped Elite 360 set to hit European shelves in just a matter of weeks, it seems unlikely new Premium hardware sporting HDMI ports will be allowed to overshadow the Elite's August 24 launch.

and paying for the privilege.

Actually it's not that surprising, as they sell they ship. We probably will have HDMI boxes here soon enough.

and with the USD that keeps going down we now officially pay over 545usd for the Pro pack. MS is making lots of money here I think lol - certainly no longer selling the consoles at a loss.

However a price drop will come this year in Europe too. I'd expect it around September ... maybe the announcement at the Leipzig Game Convention at the end of the month?
Price drop when the Elite gets out is possible too. MS didn't announce an official price yet, but stores take pre-orders at 450eur (which number-matches the new price of the Elite in the US (450usd)) ... so maybe we'll get the pro at 350eur and Core at 280eur the same day... but it's all speculation atm.
If you want a 360 in Europe I'd recommend to wait anyway ... with all the news from n-america sales will drop a lot anyway and MS will be forced to drop price here too.

No suprise there, hope they aren't dumping their warehouses of "old" consoles to Europe. I think that would be the most Microsoft thing to do while trying to push the new units out there, but we can always hope it's not going to be like that. smile.gif

Thank you for somebody else who agrees with me.

I hope they arnt taking what us consol gamers have come to love, from us. And forceing us all to change to a PC style gaming, where to have the best looking games, we must constantly be upgrading.

"Xbox360, fucking ANZ (and prolly others) over since march '06..."

The Xbox1 was such a great console, if I remember correctly Aus had the highest uptake of Xbox per capita in the world. Our thanks for that support is shoddy, way overpriced 360 consoles/games (yes we're still paying $90 USD per game) and now they are going to run out their crap stock through us? I give up.

Tried to love the 360 like i did the xbox but MS - you're making it too hard to want.
