Gamefest 2007: XBL Arcade on PC by Holidays
Posted by XanTium | August 14 23:13 EST | News Category: Xbox360

From 1up.com:
[QUOTE]
In November, Microsoft will roll out a developer update for their Games For Windows Live tools in anticipation of Xbox Live Arcade games rolling out in "holiday 07." The panel did not, however, reveal what games will make the leap from Xbox 360 to PC.

Well that kinda sucks. The good thing about the arcade was that they were only on the arcade (some games, not all of course). I reckon u should only be able to use em on the pc if u use a 360 controller, cos otherwise it'll ruin some games, like how geo wars on pc is.

I understand its part of their live anywhere thing, but some things should be kept where they came from.

Great news, another reason to turn your back on Xbox 360...

Instead of buying a $400 console, why not buy $2000 hi end gaming PC and buy a new video card every month?
I am waiting for GoW on the PC unless M$ adds 65nm and fixes the RRoD problem. For now go Xbox1 and PC!

This is getting ridiculous, whats the point of even owning the 360 console anymore, if games and xbl content are going to be available on pc to. The old argument was for the price you cant match the hardware, but with pc hardware prices at record lows, that wont stand anymore.

Atleast with a pc I have the comfort of knowing it most likely isnt going to fail and still lets me use it for normal everyday computing.

Give me Live Arcade on Windows Mobile 6! PLEASE!

I'd kill for achievements on my WM6 device! Seriously. Give me something to kill, and I'll kill it!

Sweet, I hope that if you buy them on 360, you can play them on PC without buying them again.

All MS need to do now for GFWL is a market place, and all the other cool features a 360 has, like when achievement notification pops up wish it would tell me what it is!!

Ya know, I used to play ALL my games on the pc. Offline is cool, but when ya go online, its much different than a consoul. Pc much much more lag on line!!! hardly any games support voice chat, ya have to go and use a 3rd party program for that. ( hassle ).
xbox 360 live there is very little lag. EVERY online game supports voice. its just much less of a hassle with the consoul. I will never play any fps games on a pc online again. high end dont matter. It all depends on , your connection, your enemys connetion, how fucked up the companys servers are that day, worst of all, it changes every day!!! mad.gif so pc online gamming is out the door for me.

p.s its much easier to take your 360 mobile than it is your pc.

Console gaming has a social aspect. Console games are normally played in the living room, in front of a television, while sitting on your favourite comfy. You can invite a few friends over to grab a controller and share that comfy with you and have a great time together.

With a PC, gaming is solitary. You can't see, gesture at, or make snide comments to the people you're playing with because you don't know them. If you want to play with friends, you're limited to people who have a copy of the game you want to play and have an available computer at the moment.

Casual gamers, myself included, like the fact that console games will never become obsolete for their particular system. We don't have to constantly run the upgrade treadmill for a PC because of time constraints or budgetary consideration. As a student, I have neither the time nor money to spend to ensure my rig can run the latest games every 12-16 months.

Unlikely. A console->PC port (or vice versa) will always involve some degree of coding or QA before release. That money must be recouped somehow. There are also license considerations: unless the EULA explicitly states that purchase of a game for PC entitles you to a license of the console version of the same game.

MS have already stated some months ago that live gold members will be able to play XBLA titles free on the PC if you purchased the games on your 360.
