I am running Xtreme 2.4 for my Hitachi drive, and I was wandering if I have to change the booktype for this FW, as I do not have a DVD+R DL that will change booktype (I do have a DVD DL burner that came with my laptop, just will not change booktype). I have heard yes and no on this subject, and I want to know for sure before I buy a new burner. If someone has used backups on this FW without setting for DL for DVD-ROM, please let me know.

just a heads up your firmware is unsafe and could result in you getting banned from live. you should update to ixtreme 1.2. even if you burn your backups properly (stealthed and such), the 2.4 firmware doesn't support media stealth and boots games in an unsafe (and more importantly detectable) manner.

some older firmwares required the booktype to be set, but the more recent ones (including both the 2.4 and the ixtreme firmware) do not require it.
